The Quill Awards
October 11, 2006NBC News’ Lester Holt hosted the the 2nd annual Quill Awards Tuesday night at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. More than 600 publishing members attended the event that will be broadcast as a one-hour special Oct. 28 on NBC Universal owned and operated stations as well as NBC affiliates. Approximately 100 stations are expected to carry the show.
Target was presented with the Corporate Literacy Award and Caroline Kennedy was presented with a special award for her "extraordinary dedication to education and learning".
Book of the Year went to Tyler Perry’s Don’t Make a Black Woman Take Off Her Earrings. She also won in the humor category as well.
